Piet-my-Vrou is the Afrikaans name for the Mockingbird or Red Chested Cuckoo that you find here in spring time. The cottage is situated on the working farm, Drayton, at the foot of a beautiful mountain.

Drayton is one of the oldest farms in the Overberg and the original mill, that dates back to the mid 1700's, is still on the farm, as well as part of the original wagon route. The farm is only 8km outside Caledon, on the N2 in the direction of Riviersonderend. Visitors can reach the cottage by car and will only have to travel 800m of gravel road.

On arrival guests will receive a freshly baked bread and home baked rusks. A menu from which guests can order homecooked meals and fresh baking, to be enjoyed in the privacy of the cottage is also provided. Guests can relax on the veranda and enjoy the scenery, or take an easy hike to the waterfall in the nearby mountain. A small mountain stream also flows past the cottage.

The coastal town of Hermanus is 65km away and picturesque Greyton only 40km. In the nearby
Hemel-and-Aarde Valley there are a number of wine cellars that can be visited. The hot springs and casino are only 8km away. In Caledon there is a golfcourse, as well as a few restaurants and gift shops. The Arabella Hotel with its very popular golfcourse and spa is only 20 min away.
